Sophie entered the small coffee shop, walking up to the counter and began taping her fingers on the surface trying to decide what to order. After a minute she ordered and iced tea and handed over a ten. "Keep the change," she said, giving the barista a smile and heading over to the nearest empty table.

Jason wandered into the coffee shop, wondering if he should get something for his younger brother or not. He shook his head and decided against it. His brother was around the age of seven and currently over a friends house while Jason went to work. He got out early however and figured he'd have enough time for a coffee. After placing his order for a vanilla coffee and a chocolate chip cookie, thoughts of his brother eventually winning, he thanked the woman behind the counter and paid for his things. As he walked he spotted his best friend sitting at a table by herself. "Soph!" He grinned and jogged over, setting his stuff down on the empty seat.

Sophie looked up from the table and grinned when she noticed it was her best friend that had shouted her name. She straighted up in her chair and waved him over. "Hey Jase," she greeted when he sat down. "How are you?" she asked, taking a sip of her tea.

Jason smiled widely and took a small sip of his coffee, crinkling his nose when he found it too hot. "I'm okay, you?" He asked, pushing his coffee away from him and then putting the bag with the cookie in it in his laptop bag. He was extremely happy to see her and still couldn't stop smiling.

Sophie smiled and shrugged slightly, "I'm good," she answered, swirling the contents of her drink around. "School's been kicking me around though," she added, scrunching up her nose. She actually should have been studying but decided to come here instead, procrastination being on eof her biggest problems.

JASON tilted his head to the side and thought for a moment. He could help her study, but after he got Skylar, his younger brother, home. She could come over to his house and hang out. Normally Skylar would have been at his parents house but he was watching him for about a week while his parents were away somewhere. "I can help you, if you want to come over. " He finally offered, knowing that whatever she was doing was probably cake compared to his college work. Currently he was trying to balance work and school, plus somewhat of a social life. On top of that he now had his brother.

Sophie nodded, happy to be able to hang out with him for a while seeing as she hadn't seen him in a while since they were both busy with school and other things. This way she'd be able to do her homework and hang with him. "Sounds like fun," she said, smiling brightly. "I don't really have much thankfully,"

Jason half-smiled at her and nodded his head, taking another sip of his coffee and then resting his head in his hands. "I've missed you," He said truthfully, wondering why he had cared so much. Maybe it was because they hadn't seen much of each other, which was true. That wasn't why, but that's what he was trying to convince himself at least. He had just turned twenty-two and of course he had feelings for the girl, but was great at hiding them. He kept them secret because he didn't want to mess up the friendship they had, which he wasn't sure if it would happen, but there was still a small chance of it. His nose scrunched up as he got lost in thought and shook his head a bit. "Sorry, i'm zoning." He chuckled lightly and took a gulp of his coffee, sighing after he swallowed.

Sophie smiled after he said that he had missed her. Honestly, she had missed him as well. More than she thought now the he had mentioned it. She constantly found her thinking where he was and if he was doing all right. Once or twice she had even scribbled his name into her notebook during class. "I missed you too," she said.

Jason. smiled and looked down at his cup, trying to think of something to say to her. It wasn't awkward, but he just really didn't know what to talk about. "How has everything been with you?" He asked. "Got a boy yet?" He half-smirked. He had always teased her about boys but always hated when she was actually with one. For some reason he always felt jealous, but tried to shake it off.

Sophie sent him a mock glare then laughed. Sure, she'd like to have a boyfriend but always used high standards as an excuse for not having one. She'd always been envious of her friends when their were with their boyfriend, but she had been holding out for a good guy. Especially since she wasn't a fan of heartbreak. "You're just hilarious..everything has been okay, I guess," she answered, "How about with you? Got a girlfriend?" she teased.

JASON shrugged at her first comment and then shook his head when she asked if he had a girlfriend. "No..." He trailed off, looking at her. He never really noticed how beautiful she was, but again, he couldn't be thinking like this. They were best friends and nothing could ever mess that up, even his stupid feelings... which weren't really that stupid after all. A small sigh escaped his lips as he finished up his coffee and got up to throw it away. When he sat back down he smiled at her. "I want one though." He added.

Sophie smiled lightly, unsure of why his answer made her a bit happy. She sighed and shrugged slightly, "I don't know Jase, it's not really all that hard to walk up to a girl and say, hey I'm Jason Andrews and I want to take you out on Friday," she laughed, "Speaking of Friday, want to hang out tomorrow night? We can watch really bad movies and eat popcorn like we used to," she said, hoping that he would want to.

Jason grinned at how easy it actually was to get a date with the girl he liked, well, it wasn't exactly a date. He pressed his lips together and cocked his head to the side. "Yeah, of course. I'll pick you up tomorrow and you can stay at my house for the weekend too if you're parents are going away. Skylar would love the company." He winked and pushed himself away from the table, standing up. "Want to go back to my house now and get some of your homework done Soph?" He asked, taking her hand and helping her up before slinging his laptop case over his shoulder.

Sophie nodded and got up with his help. She was excited to get to be with him this weekend, glad that he parents were going away to some couples retreat thing or something like that. She groaned when he mentioned her homework. "You get me all excited and then boom, homework. Not cool Jason, not at all," she laughed, tossing her cup into the garbage.
