Why was she at the beach yet again? Lee hadn't a clue. After spending the morning sitting in her house in front of the piano playing and singing softly to herself so as not to wake her father, stepmother or stepsiblings, she had decided that she needed to get out of the house. The thought of "I need to get out of the house" had somehow led to her throwing on a bathing suit, cut-offs, and a dark tank top. Lee had completely ignored her truck, despite her obvious adoration for the vehicle, and opted instead to walk to the beach with her usual slight-frown on her lips that caused people to give the seventeen year old more than enough room to pass so that they didn't disturb her.
Lee wasn't a welcoming person. In a small town like this, everyone knew that kind of thing.
After reaching the beach, she had stood and stared at the water for a bit before finally making up her mind. Swimming? Not a chance. There were too many people who she recognized from her school out there, flirting or just having fun with friends, and Lee didn't want any part in that. Socializing just wasn't her forte - and as much as her family wished that one could say "though it wasn't for lack of trying," after that statement, the truth was that she didn't try.
Overtime, she had come to know which parts of the tiny, almost insignificant town were her favourites. Just a fifteen minute walk down the beach, there was no more sand. If you walked in the water for another ten or so minutes, usually the water was up to mid-thigh, you could get to a thin stretch of sand that no one really knew about. Lee was very passionate about avoiding other people, and so had known about this place since about the time she had been allowed to go out places on her own. Almost half an hour later, when she reached it, she could see her footprints from last time she had been there. Her lips twitched, but she didn't quite smile. Sand stuck to her feet and the backs of her legs as she walked slowly up onto the land and laid back, supporting herself on her elbows so that she could relax but still see out across the water. Lee loved it here.

Sophie quietly left her house and climbed into her beat up car. It was, in her terms, extremely janky but she loved the old thing. Her plans were to head to the beach, something she did almost everyday. Sometimes it would be four in the morning and she would be here, just so she could have her time here and still be able to be at school on time. She had a habit of having everything planned out. Sophie was typically a good kid. Always being the kinds of girl parents want their sons to date.
She smiled as she pulled out of the driveway, waving at her elderly neighbor who was doing yard work at this time everyday. And that was what she hated. Routine. She followed one, everyone followed one! Sophie needed excitement and different things to happen everyday and she was sure it wasn't going to happen any time soon. It bummed her out most of the time but she got through, the only time she would finally give up on this place was if her special someone left.
Sophie pulled into the beach parking lot, grateful that she lived so close to the water. It was one of the few things she liked about this town. Sophie got out of her car, leaving most of her things in there but taking a beach towel to lay on and her music player filled with John Mayer and some other of her secret likings.
As her feet touched sand she saw that someone else was here which she found odd since she always liked to be here on her own. She had pretty much claimed it her beach. Sophie got closer and noticed who it was. Elisabeth. She'd never really had a formal conversation with the girl..nor actually spoken to her. Sophie was easily intimidated by people but never really let it show through her sunny disposition.
She laid her towel on the cool sand and sat down, turning on her player and turning the volume down so she could still hear the waves. [/size]
