Sample RP:Guilt was something that Faith had just learned to live with. Or, rather, it was something she was trying to learn to live with. It bothered her to have to constantly lie to friends she made, but there really wasn’t anything she could do, was there? Well, she could tell them that she was a vampire - except she would never, ever consider that as an option. “Hey guys, I eat people. Just so you know.” Yeah, that wouldn’t go over so well, would it? Even if Faith wanted to say it, she doubted she would be physically capable of spitting the words out, anyway. She was pretty much helpless when it came to how she felt about her lies, and so she was basically doomed to live feeling ashamed about just about everything that she spoke. In general, she stuck to the same story when she moved from place to place because it was convenient, was a simple way to explain her apparent lack of parents, and because it was simple when she didn’t have to come up with a new history for herself each time.
She supposed that she could defend herself by saying that she didn’t have much of a choice. After all, she was stubborn and if she wanted to believe that she truly didn’t have another option, then she didn’t have another option. As long as she kept her mouth shut and successfully pretended like she wasn’t ashamed of herself (for many things, not just all of her lies) it would all be okay. Or at least she would manage to get by without snapping and spilling the whole story to someone. Alice had been the only person who she had almost admitted everything to - but Faith all but stapled her lips shut and hadn’t said a word. Now Alice had a husband, children, and a good life. That was what Faith wanted for every person she ever made friends with.
Faith had a three year old great niece living in Arizona. Arizona was, after all, where she had been born. That was one thing that she told people that was the truth. Her slightly-younger sister had gotten married, had a daughter, and then she had gotten married and had a daughter. Faith had gotten a good look at the little girl for the first time since she was born, and it had really made her miss her family. The little girl looked eerily similar to how Faith’s sister had looked at that age, white blonde hair and bright hazel eyes. It had scared her, almost. How much she really missed them. Same with how much she missed Alice, and, sometimes, Danny. Although she spent a good fraction of her time being angry at him, she wasn’t angry at him all the time.
She wondered briefly what Jackson would think should she mention the little girl. Never mind how she would bring it up. “Hey, JJ. I have a great-niece, just so you know. I’ve never actually spoken to her--” insert a shrug “--but she’s really cute. Y’know.” She held back a sigh.
“Your first musical festival? Really? You’ve been missing out, Faith,” Jackson smiled. “Well, better late than never.” ‘Cause it wasn’t like she didn’t have hundreds of years left to actually attend one of these things. Thank-you, Danny, she thought sarcastically, though on the outside she was still smiling, too. At least, she considered, it really was her first one. Bye-bye, guilt, thank you for leaving me be. Well, it wasn’t entirely gone, but it hadn’t increased either. Which was still good, right? Faith thought so.
Glancing around at the crowds for a moment, before looking back towards Jackson, she spoke again, “have you been to many of these?” She was curious, honestly, because he didn’t strike as the kind of person to go to an event like this unless forced by another person. Which, when she stopped to think about it, actually did mean that he’d been to at least one or two in his life before. From what she’d heard about his family (which seemed to consist mainly of girls), they would be the type to drag him around willingly or not to attend whatever they pleased.
Jackson pursed his lips, glancing up, "Well, if this is your first time, what do you want to do? You should make the most of it you can...." Faith looked up as well, noticing that the sun had set and it was darker than she had expected it to be.
She took a moment to think, then, because if she was going to be honest she wasn’t quite certain what you did at music festivals other than listen to music. Faith was pretty sure that some girls who went to music festivals with friends spent the entire time commenting on people’s appearances or pointing out cute boys, but for one, she had Jackson, and she was also pretty sure that he didn’t care to gossip about who was dressed the worst. She settled for a shrug. “Uhm …” she hesitated, glancing around yet again, “I-I’m not sure,” she admitted with a small laugh.- - - - - - -
